The day after the Brisbane Lions won their 3rd consecutive AFL premiership, the NBL's oldest known fan mail to the Brisbane Bullets - it was sent 46 years ago in just the second year of the league - gets verified in Fitzroy. Witnessing the @brisbanelions #ThreePeat was pretty good, and so too was being reminded at the airport what got us there! 🙂 When Brisbane Lions ran out onto the MCG they were not only about to create AFL history, but also recall it. Go Lions! I was the first to drape the 2026 AFL premiership cup in club colours when I claimed it on behalf of the Brisbane Lions back in July when the cup and I were on the Tiwi Islands.
