My book “Dovercourt: Toowong’s Hidden Treasure and Its People”

While in the West Australian goldfields, I tracked down the Darling Downs’ most successful builder of the last two centuries with connections to the US president. Please follow and share the link on my profile for the story, "The Connolly Cousins: Murder, Mayors and Million‑Dollar Contracts." Exactly 100 years ago this year, these two locations in the Australian Goldfields were central to the most evil murders of serving policemen in Australian history. I went to Fremantle in Western Australia to visit the hotel that accommodated the survivors of a shipwreck 116 years ago. I found an incredibly rewarding story. Please follow the link on my profile for the story, "The Last of the Pericles." I travelled to Kalgoorlie to rediscover one man's greatest triumph just 11 years after the Wright Brothers. Please follow the link on my profile to enjoy and share the amazing story, "Rediscovering Arthur Jones." Here in the goldfields of Western Australia I've found the most unique monument to a world record that you'll ever see - the Big Camel of Coolgardie! The West Australian Goldfields is where 127 years ago a family from 3,000km to the east claimed a unique piece of history. Please follow and share the link on my profile for the story, "A Star on the Goldfields." I'm here in Kalgoorlie in the West Australian goldfields researching an Ipswich miner and rugby star from Queensland. In 1899 he was uniquely honoured twice, but not for the reason you may think. I told the whole story live on @westbremerradioipswich Former US president Herbert Hoover lived here at the historic 1897 Palace Hotel in Kalgoorlie in the West Australian goldfields. Now I'm staying here on assignment and on air live after 8am Saturday on West Bremer Radio and after 7.30am Tuesday on 4AK Darling Downs (QLD time) with two great previously untold Kalgoorlie stories. Watch this video to see inside the magnificent 129-year-old staircase and Herbert Hoover's mirror! The 1871 Queensland election riot involved a range of characters, and questions were asked about the police. Please follow the link on my profile for the story, "Little Fitz, Lost Girls, and the Warwick Riot."
